Listings and selling

How to post, manage and sell listings effectively — from framing a photo to getting paid on an accepted offer.

Posting a listing

A new listing is created through a multi-step wizard, opened with the green “Sell” button at the top. You can go back to any earlier step at any time, so there is no need to fill everything in at once.

  1. Category

Pick one of the main categories: Firearms, Optics and accessories, Ammunition, Clothing, Accessories or Other. Your choice determines which fields appear later (e.g. calibre only for ammunition).
  2. Details

Title, description, manufacturer, model. The more precisely you describe the item, the faster it sells and the fewer questions you get in messages.
  3. Photos

Up to 10 photos. The first photo becomes the main one — it is shown on cards and in search results.
  4. Price and auction

Enter a fixed “Buy now” price. To let buyers compete on price, tick “Allow auction alongside Buy now” (see the “Auctions” section).
  5. Location and contacts

The city where you plan to meet. Your phone number is taken from your profile and is never shown publicly.
  6. Preview and publish

The final step shows how the listing will look to a buyer. Click “Publish” — the listing goes live immediately.

Tip

You don’t have to finish a listing in one sitting — the wizard saves a draft automatically. You can close the browser and come back later; the draft will wait in your profile under “My listings”.

Condition codes

Every listing must carry a condition label. An accurate condition avoids disputes and builds buyer trust.

  • New — never used, in original packaging, with manufacturer documents.
  • Very good — used very little, no visible defects, works like new.
  • Good — used normally, with minor signs of use. Fully functional.
  • Satisfactory — visible signs of use, perhaps minor cosmetic flaws. Fully functional.
  • Poor — needs repair or parts. You must clearly describe what does not work.

Quick filter

You can browse listings by the groups “Show new only” or “Show used only” — used combines all four grades of a used item.

Photos

Listings with clear, well-lit photos statistically get 3–5 times more views and sell almost twice as fast.

Technical requirements

  • Supported formats: JPG, PNG, WEBP.
  • Maximum size — 10 MB per photo.
  • Up to 10 photos per listing.
  • Recommended minimum resolution — 1200×900 pixels.

Recommended shots

  • An overall view of the item with all its parts.
  • At least one side shot (for firearms — the barrel, the extractor).
  • A detail with the serial number (if relevant).
  • A photo of the packaging if the item is new.
  • Any defects or wear marks — honest representation builds trust.

Avoid

Online-shop photos — moderators recognise them and may remove the listing. All photos must be taken by you, ideally against the same background.

Editing, cloning and marking as sold

You can edit a listing at any time from the “My listings” section of your profile or from the top of the listing itself.

  • Editing — all fields, including price and photos, can be changed. Changes take effect immediately.
  • Post a similar listing — every listing has a button at the bottom that uses the current data as a template for a new listing. Handy when selling several similar items.
  • Mark as sold — the listing disappears from search but stays in your profile for history and reviews.
  • Temporary hiding — you can deactivate a listing without deleting it. Re-publishing it later takes just one click.

Auctions

An auction is optional but a very effective way to find the real market price, especially for rare or collectible items.

Two modes

  • Hybrid auction — the listing has both a “Buy now” price and an active auction at the same time. The buyer can choose: place a bid or buy immediately at the fixed price.
  • Pure auction — the “Buy now” button is hidden and bids are the only way to acquire the item. Suitable when you want to let the market set the price.

How to enable

  1. Tick the box

While creating or editing a listing, open the “Price” step and tick “Allow auction alongside Buy now”.
  2. Starting price

We recommend 70–80% of the “Buy now” price. The system suggests 80% automatically, but you can adjust it.
  3. Bid increment

The minimum difference between the current and a new bid. Usually €5–50 depending on the item price.
  4. End time

Choose a duration — 3, 7 or 14 days. When the time runs out the auction closes automatically.
  5. Pure auction (optional)

If you want to hide the “Buy now” button, additionally tick “Convert to a pure auction”.

Auto-extension

If a bid is placed in the final minutes of the auction, the end time is extended automatically — this protects against “sniping”, where the auction is won in the last second. The seller sets the extension length when creating the auction.

Bidding rules

  • A bid must be at least “current price + bid increment”.
  • A bid cannot exceed the “Buy now” price — such bids are rejected automatically.
  • A seller cannot bid on their own auction.
  • Bids are binding — on winning the auction the buyer must complete the deal.

Converting from an ordinary listing

In the “My listings” section of your profile every card has a “hammer” button that converts any listing into an auction without recreating it.

Offers (name your price)

An offer is a private form of negotiation inside the chat. An offer is not a binding purchase — it only turns into a payment button once the seller accepts it.

How to make an offer

  1. Open the listing

On the listing page click the “Name your price” button.
  2. Enter an amount

You can add a short note about why you are offering that price (e.g. “I see a similar listing for €2900”).
  3. Wait for the seller’s reply

The offer appears in the chat as a green “OFFER” card. The seller can accept it, decline it, or counter with another amount.

After acceptance

Once the offer is accepted, a green “Buy for €X” button appears for the buyer in the chat, leading to payment. An “Accepted” marker is always shown next to the button.

Offer validity

Offers not accepted within 7 days are automatically marked “Expired”. To continue negotiating, simply submit a new offer.

Messages with buyers

All conversations happen inside NordGun. This matters for your own safety — in fraud disputes the chat history is the key evidence.

  • You’ll find conversations by clicking the notification icon at the top or in the “Notifications” section.
  • The list of all conversations is on the left, the active conversation on the right.
  • Read / unread states sync in real time.
  • The conversation header shows the item and a link to the other user’s profile.

Don’t move the conversation off the platform

If someone immediately tries to switch to WhatsApp, Telegram or SMS — that is usually a sign of fraud. All honest buyers agree to talk in the internal chat first.

Favourite listings

Buyers can mark your listing as a favourite — convenient for them and useful for you.

  • The buyer taps the heart on a listing and the item is added to their “Favourites” list.
  • The buyer sees all their favourites by clicking the heart icon in the top navigation.
  • You get an email that someone favourited your item — if you are not active on the platform at that moment.
  • The same notification for the same listing repeats no more than once every 6 hours, so we don’t flood your inbox.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to post a listing?
A standard listing is free. Extra services (highlighting, bumping to the top) are charged separately.
How long does a listing stay active?
Listings are active for 60 days. A reminder is sent 7 days before expiry; you can renew it with one click.
Can I send the same item to two buyers?
No — once an offer is accepted the item is considered reserved. Treat the first buyer in line ethically.
Why is my listing barely visible in search?
Check the category, the clarity of the title, the quality of the photos and the price. A verified account and the “Bump listing” service also improve visibility.
Can I disable offers and allow only “Buy now”?
You control the auction and offers toggle in the listing editor. If you disable the auction and no one can negotiate the price — buyers can still send ordinary messages.
