Reporting violations

Help us keep the community safe — learn when and how to report suspicious behaviour, fraud or inappropriate content.

When to report

If you see any of the violations listed below, please report it to the administration right away. Even if you’re not sure — it’s better to report.

Listing violations

  • Incorrect categorisation — e.g. an inactive firearm in the “Accessories” category to bypass review.
  • Obviously fake photos or ones taken from online shops.
  • Prohibited items: ammunition for a minor, military equipment without a proper permit, firearm modifications without a certificate.
  • A listing that names a minor as the seller or buyer.
  • Suspiciously cheap prices with a request to transfer a deposit.

Chat violations

  • A fraud attempt — a request to pay with gift cards, cryptocurrency, “intermediaries”.
  • Pressure to move to WhatsApp, Telegram or SMS “faster”.
  • Insulting, discriminatory or threatening content.
  • Spam — repeatedly sent advertising messages.
  • An attempt to extract personal data or passwords.

Account violations

  • Impersonating another user or company.
  • Using dealer status without a valid licence.
  • Trading or sharing accounts (there must be one account per email).

Not sure?

Even if you’re in doubt about the situation — report it. The administration reviews every report and, if there is no violation, no harm is done.

How to submit a report

There are two ways to report, depending on what you want to flag.

From a listing or profile page

  1. Open the listing or profile

The one where you noticed the violation.
  2. Click the flag icon

The “Report” icon is next to the other action buttons (heart, share).
  3. Choose the violation type

From the drop-down list — fraud, fake listing, prohibited item, etc.
  4. Briefly describe the situation

Add context — when you noticed it, what seems suspicious. If possible, attach screenshots.
  5. Submit the report

After submitting you’ll get a confirmation email. The administration replies directly to it.

From a chat

In the chat header click the three-dot menu and choose “Report conversation”. The report automatically includes the chat context, so the administration needs no extra information.

Directly by email

In more complex cases write to info@nordgun.com. Attach links to listings, chats and screenshots.

What happens after a report

All reports are reviewed manually — we have no automatic account blocking, so we don’t harm honest users.

  1. The report enters the moderation queue

You’ll immediately get a confirmation email with a unique report ID.
  2. An administrator reviews the context

The listing / account data, chat history and previous reports are checked. If needed, we contact you for more information.
  3. Decision

Depending on the severity of the violation, one of these measures may apply:
    • Warning — first time or an unclear violation.
    • Listing removal — does not comply with the rules.
    • Temporary ban — in case of several violations (7–30 days).
    • Permanent ban — a gross or repeated violation.
  4. Reply to the reporter

You are informed of the final decision by email within 2–7 business days (depending on complexity).

Anonymity

The person being reported never sees your name. All reports are confidential to us — the administration discloses only what is necessary in a dispute.

Abusing reports

Abusing the reporting system is itself considered a violation.

  • Don’t report competitors just because they compete in your market.
  • Don’t report buyers just because they offered too low a price.
  • Don’t provide false information in a report — the administration checks all the facts.
  • With repeated abuse, your own account may be restricted.

Emergency situations

Some situations go beyond the administrative sphere and require direct contact with the authorities.

Call 112

If someone threatens your safety during a meeting, arrives with a firearm without signing the transfer act, or an illegal deal is being attempted — call the police immediately on 112.

Reporting to the Police Department

  • About suspicious activity involving firearms — the Police Department’s Firearms and Safety Service.
  • About fraud over €500 — additionally inform us too, so we can block the account.
  • Once you’ve filed a statement with the police, send its number to info@nordgun.com — it speeds up the block.

Frequently asked questions

Is a report anonymous?
Yes — the person being reported never learns who reported them. We protect the reporter’s identity unless legal cooperation with the authorities is required.
How long does the review take?
Usually 2–7 business days. We review gross violations (active fraud, threats) within 24 hours.
What do I do if I already transferred money to a scammer?
Immediately tell your bank to block the transfer. Then write to the police (a statement by email or directly at the station). Finally inform us — we’ll block the account so the scammer can’t attract more victims.
Can I appeal a decision to block my account?
Yes. Write to info@nordgun.com stating the report or decision ID. The decision is reviewed by another administrator within 5 business days.
